Strategic management and entrepreneurship
Yang’s research interests include corporate venturing and entrepreneurship, organizational learning, technology management and decision-making process. She has published her research in top-tier academic journals such as Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of International Management, Research Policy, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal and Strategic Management Journal. She has received several grants as PI or Co-PI from UMass Lowell, the UMass System and the Department of Energy in support of teaching and research in the area of entrepreneurship.

Yi Yang is an assistant professor in the Management Group. She joined the College of Management at University of Massachusetts Lowell in 2006. Currently, she is teaching Strategy and Entrepreneurship courses for undergraduate students at UMass Lowell.
She is a member of several professional associations such as Academy of Management and Strategic Management Society. She received the Teaching and Learning Exploration Grant at UMass Lowell in 2007.
