Research Interest
Dr. Hamer has written a number of articles and papers on these topics, including a published book entitled "Troubled Debt Restructuring: An Alternative to Bankruptcy?" by UMI Research Press. His research has been mainly in the bankruptcy area and the study of the effect of state taxes in choosing plant locations. His research also involves the statement of cash flows and accounting for international operations, with four publications, two of which appeared in the International Journal of Accounting. Recently he had worked with two other colleagues on accounting for stock options. They published their first article in Southern Collegiate Accountants, an independent organization. He has also collaborated with three other UMass Lowell colleagues on a recent article for the Oil, Gas and Energy Quarterly.
