Computer & Media Equipment


Borrowing Equipment

Faculty and staff may borrow equipment from UML Media North or South.  Students may borrow equipment and/or videos overnight with a loan form signed by a faculty or staff member.  Loan Forms (link to .pdf) are available as a download or at either UML Media location.

 

The following production and presentation equipment is available for loan:

·  Digital cameras 

·  Digital Video Cameras / tripods

·  DVD players

·  Microphones

·  Overhead projectors

·  PC & Mac Laptops

·  Portable LCD projectors

·  Portable screens

·  Portable TVs (13" and 20")

·  Sound systems: JBL, wireless TOA,

·  Tape recorders

Wires, cables, connectors, stands and other accessories are also available.

 

Computer Resources

Media Services has a small but powerful production lab of ten iMac G5 Workstations and two Dell computers running Windows XP at UML South Media Center.  These machines are equipped with a variety of peripherals, such as external hard drives, DVD writers, and card readers. Specialized computer imaging devices such as a flatbed scanner, 35mm slide scanner, and film recorder, are also offered.  This equipment enables faculty and students to create rich digital media. 

 

Production and video/audio editing assistance and instruction are available by appointment and on a walk-in basis.

 

Media Services staff will with digital conversions for CD, DVD, video and audio streaming, and hardcopy or OCR (optical character recognition) scanning – from hard copy to digital, from slides to computer, Mac and/or PC.
