New Venture Initiative Mentor Program

The New Venture Initiative (NVI) and NVI UMass Lowell Mentor Program seeks to connect faculty, staff, graduate and post-doc developed technology with successful experienced entrepreneurs and alumnus. The purpose of the program is to establish a startup path to commercialization and to improve startup success at UMass Lowell.

Mentors will help evaluate appropriate markets, focus their research with commercially-minded milestones, and evaluate team members, prototyping, and eventually a go-to-market strategy, as well as help the University entrepreneur find their role in the nascent company. The time spent mentoring will tend to be a longer term commitment.

Goal: To further UMass Lowell research technologies by increasing the development of startup businesses through a professional mentoring process.
