DifferenceMaker Faculty
The success of DifferenceMaker in reaching our students is in a large part contingent on the involvement of our faculty. There are several ways in which UMass Lowell faculty can participate in, and support the DifferenceMaker initiative:
- Invite us into your class to share the initiative and events schedule with your students
- Offer students assignment credit for participation in DifferenceMaker and related events
- Meet with us to identify ways you can integrate real-world problem solving activities into your class
- Volunteer to mentor a DifferenceMaker student team in preparation for the Spring DifferenceMaker $25K Competition
- Schedule “drop-in” time in the Center to assist students with problem solving and venture development
- Lead a DifferenceMaker workshop that helps students to better understand some aspect of the problem solving – innovation – entrepreneurship process
- Explore funding opportunities that might support the integration of real-world problem solving into your own courses and curriculum
This year, the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship is supporting two Faculty Fellows, UMass Lowell faculty who will help staff the Center and implement DifferenceMaker activities on campus. Keep an eye out for the 2013-2014 Fellows announcement.
