Karen Devereaux Melillo, Ph.D., North Andover resident and UMass Lowell Interin Dean of nursing, has co-authored a new, one-of a kind book that combines the study of aging with that of psychiatric mental health.

"Geropsychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, Second Edition" addresses the knowledge and skills necessary in the assessment and nursing care of older adults experiencing common late life mental health and psychiatric problems. The text features experts in gerontological nursing and geropsychiatric fields and provides essential information for advanced practice and professional nurses in addition to graduate and undergraduate nursing students.

May Futrell, Ph.D., FAAN, FGSA, Professor Emerita and former Chair, received the distinction of being named a "Living Legend in Massachusetts Nursing" by the Massachusetts Association of Registered Nurses, and she was honored at the Annual Awards Meeting of MARN on Friday, April 16, 2010.

Angela Nannini, FNP, Ph.D. was honored for Excellence in Nursing Education by the Massachusetts Association of Registered Nurses at the Annual Awards Meeting on Friday, April 16, 2010.
