The Graduate School of Education offers an undergraduate minor in education, graduate degrees at three levels - Master's (M.Ed.), Education Specialist (Ed.S.) and Doctoral (Ed.D.) - and twelve-credit graduate certificates.

Our degree programs not only prepare new teachers for the classroom, but also provide experienced teachers with opportunities to serve in roles such as reading specialist, school principal, human services administrator, college faculty, policy planning, consultants, and other leadership positions.

Not yet Admitted into a Graduate Degree or Certificate - (Non-Matriculated)

Students who are not yet admitted into a graduate degree or certificate program may take two courses (six credits) at UMass Lowell prior to admission into their program.  It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that courses taken are appropriate for the degree or certificate program.  Please contact a program advisor.

Non-matriculated students taking their FIRST graduate course (on-campus or online) at UMass Lowell should register by using the registration form at http://continuinged.uml.edu/pdf/registration_form.pdf

Reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires that institutions of Higher Education provide accommodations for students with documented disabilities.  Faculty of the Graduate School of Education will provide accommodations if the student brings proper notification from the Office of Disability Services.  Accommodations are not retroactive; they start from the time the faculty member is notified with an appropriate letter of accommodations.
