Dr. Maryanne Wolf, world-renowned cognitive neuroscientist and scholar, is Professor of Child Development and the Director for the Center for Reading and Language Research at Tufts University. Dr. Wolf's scientific studies on how children learn to read have opened new avenues of research and practice that have the potential to revolutionize the teaching of reading. In her book, Proust and the Squid, Dr. Wolf writes about how the evolution and development of reading have changed the very arrangement of our brains and our intellectual lives. In her presentation, Dr. Wolf will focus on reading in this digital age and the potentially profound consequences of the evolution of the brain for our futures.
