Bachelor's to Master's Programs give students the opportunity to save money and time as they complete two degrees in as little as five years. There are nearly two dozen undergraduate majors that offer a combined accelerated bachelor’s to master’s degree program.

Specific advantages of the Bachelor's to Master's Programs include:

  • Graduate Record Exam waived for applicants with a 3.0 or higher GPA (See note about Fast Track Teacher Certification Program, below)
  • Graduate application fee waived for applicants with a 3.0 or higher GPA
  • Students may count graduate courses taken in their senior year toward both bachelor's and master's degrees.
  • An increased pool of master's-level scholarship funding is available.

Students may choose to continue from bachelor’s to master’s level studies within their own department. Students may also decide to apply to a different department to create a set of skills to meet emerging needs in the workplace and their own academic interests.

Plus 1 Programs, a special category of Bachelor's to Master's degrees, can be completed in a total of five years, though participants may choose to take longer than one year to complete the master's curriculum.

Students interested in pursuing a combined Bachelor's to Master's Program should contact the department’s graduate coordinator as early as their sophomore year in order to receive the most benefit from advising on course selection.  To apply with the Office of Graduate Admissions, please download the paper application form (pdf).

Those students interested in becoming teachers should apply to the Fast Track Teacher Certification Program offered by the Graduate School of Education. This is a Plus 1 Program, designed to be completed in one year. Note that the Graduate Record Exam is required for all Fast Track applicants.

The College of Management does not offer a Bachelor's to Master's Program because MBA applicants must have two years of full-time relevant work experience as part of the criteria for admission into the program. However, the MBA Program is open to graduating undergraduates who meet the minimum work experience requirement and the other management program requirements.

More information is available in the Graduate Catalog.
