
The Faculty Development Center spearheads or collaborates on a number of internal and external professional development opportunities for faculty. All of these address teaching, research and scholarship on campus:
Opportunities at UMass Lowell:
Fridays with Faculty - Started in January 2007, Fridays with Faculty are informal lunchtime meetings with quick take-aways on topics relevant to faculty teaching. Generally, these are held on the last Friday of each month during the Fall and Spring Semesters.
See the latest scheduleConversation Dinners - The Faculty Development Center collaborates with the Faculty Council on Teaching, Learning and Research as Scholarship (CTLRS) and select council task forces to bring a Fall and Spring Conversation Dinner to campus. Conversation Dinners unite faculty from all disciplines in interactive discussion and a dinner that focuses on at least one aspect of the integration of teaching, research and service.

Faculty Institutes - The Faculty Development Center organizes and delivers one to three day faculty institutes in winter and summer.
