Grants & Initiatives - Student Recruitment, Retention and Success


Enrollment management at UML includes a number of programs to assist with student recruitment, increase enrollment, and support retention activities, which in turn will result in a more successful academic experience for students (and increase graduation rates). As a research university, we are focusing resources to increase the recruitment and retention of students in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields. In addition, many of our programs focus on increasing the number of students from underrepresented minority groups entering and completing degrees in the STEM fields. The following table lists these types of grants, programs and initiatives underway at UMass Lowell:
