Dr. Malloy has served as thesis advisor for more than 70 plastics and manufacturing engineering graduate students since joining the UMass Lowell faculty in 1987. His research interests include: plastics recycling, injection molding, injection mold design, plastic part design, thermoplastic additives, process development, plastic product design, polymer processing, and recycling of thermoplastics.Educational Background

Biosketch
Dr. Robert Malloy is a Professor and Chairman of the Plastics Engineering Department at UMass Lowell. He is an active researcher and consultant in the areas of plastics processing, design and recycling. Dr. Malloy is the author of many publications and patents, including a textbook on the subject of plastic part design. Prior to joining the faculty at Lowell, he was an instructor at the Algerian Petroleum Institute in Annaba, Algeria.
