Biosketch

Mr. Husseini has more than twenty-four years of practical and management experience.  He is currently the transportation department manager at Nitsch Engineering.  Mr. Husseini is in charge of day-to-day project production, business development, and management of staff.   His experience includes Transportation planning, transportation engineering, traffic engineering, and civil engineering. Mr. Husseini has managed projects, prepared construction documents, specifications, and construction estimates on many traffic and transportation engineering contracts. He has completed projects in transportation planning, highway and roadway improvements, traffic operation designs, traffic impact and access studies, traffic simulation, traffic signal progression, traffic modeling, and parking studies and design.  His projects include public and private sector clients. 

Mr. Husseini is knowledgeable in computer applications use for transportation engineering (planning and design); he also developed a spreadsheet application to perform rotary analysis using the British method and served on an ITE committee for developing a Wire loop Detector Installation Guide for the Massachusetts Highway Department. His experience includes work in Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Vermont.

Since the fall of 2004, Mr. Husseini has been an adjunct instructor at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.  He is a member of the Civil & Environmental Engineering Department.  He has been teaching graduate classes in Traffic Engineering (14.541), Urban Transportation Planning (14.540), and Traffic Management and Control (14.548).  

Mr. Husseini serves on the Umass Lowell Civil & Environmental Engineering Department Advisory Board.
