Abstract

The Smart Interactive Teacher (SIT) is a device designed to teach a class with special needs to count. It uses auditory and visual stimuli that encourage the children to learn. SIT provides different types of operational modes: Stand-Alone and Co-Op mode. In the Stand-Alone mode the device functions on its own and this makes the device somewhat portable. In contrast, when the device is being operated in Co-Op mode it works together with a computer that has a parallel port and the SM software installed. The Smart Interactive Teacher is a simple low cost and power consumption machine, and easy to use.
