By gaining your education from the Graduate School of Education (GSE), you will be transformed into the best educator you can be. With access to outstanding faculty, whose research and practice make them leaders in their fields, you’ll learn both theoretical and practical knowledge that will change the way you think about teaching, learning and leading.

Our master’s degrees provide you with real-world learning opportunities that will reinforce your knowledge, judgment and skills in your professional career. Find out more in Why UMass Lowell.

Explore our programs of study including the Initial Teacher Licensure degrees that will prepare you to become an elementary or secondary teacher in Massachusetts. You can also add a license for teaching children with moderate disabilities or teaching English language learners.

If you are already a teacher and want to advance your career, we offer both Master's and Education Specialist degrees. If you are a Massachusetts teacher, you can also work toward additional licenses as a principal or reading specialist. Our advanced degrees are online providing the quality and flexibility which busy professionals need.

We also offer three doctoral programs designed to develop leaders who will transform education through their understanding of theory and practice and ability to conduct research.

Although we only grant graduate degrees, we do offer undergraduates the opportunity to enroll in either the STEM Teaching Minor or the Education Minor.

We hope you’ll join us in UMass Lowell’s Graduate School of Education where you’ll learn how to transform the lives of children through excellence, equity, collaboration and inquiry.

With best wishes,

Anita Greenwood
