The Regional Economic and Social Development (RESD) Department offers advanced certificate and master’s programs to prepare students to understand, analyze, and intervene in the economic and social development of regions. Graduates work in government agencies, for non-profit organizations, in private sector research and analysis, and in other policy and development settings. Many graduates go on to more advanced degrees.
The department is interdisciplinary, drawing on the fields of economics, history, political science, psychology, sociology, and urban planning. Most of the courses are team taught, giving students different perspectives on the same problem.
