Bio Sketch

After the dismembering of the folk/rock band Knots and Crosses of which he was a member, Williams embarked on a career as a recording engineer and producer, working primarily with singer-songwriters such as Patty Larkin, Jennifer Kimball and Kris Delmhorst. He co-produced Cry, Cry, Cry, a collaboration between Dar Williams, Lucy Kaplansky and Richard Sindell.

A veteran stage performer and recording studio musician and multi-instrumentalist, Williams explored the many world music ensembles during his time at Brown, including Ghanaian drumming, Javanese gamelan and the Brown Middle Eastern Music Ensemble.

Williams has served on the faculty of UML since 1995, first as an adjunct faculty member teaching courses in sound recording history and aesthetics, introduction to technology for music majors, theory and aural skills. Currently as coordinator of the music business program, he teaches courses in music business and serves as advisor to all music business majors, as well as two music business oriented student organizations -- MEISA and the VPAC.
