Several years ago, we began a new tradition at the University of Massachusetts Lowell — the Commencement Eve Celebration. This gala evening was started to commemorate the successes of the school year and welcome our honorary degree recipients and distinguished alumni to our community, while successfully raising important scholarship funds for our students. In addition, expanding community-building events such as this has dramatically increased the prestige and reputation of the University. In the past four years the annual Commencement Eve Celebration has raised nearly $1.5 million for student scholarships.

The Commencement Eve Celebration 2012 will take place on Friday, May 25, 2012 at the UMass Lowell Inn & Conference Center. An impressive list of honored guests will join us for an exciting program that includes an address by our 2012 Keynote Speaker and Honorary Degree Recipient Kenneth Salazar, U.S. Secretary of the Interior. The evening's presentation includes student awards, Trustees' Key Award, the Distinguished Alumni Award and honorary degrees.

Admission to the event is $125 per person, which includes cocktails, dinner, awards, entertainment and student scholarship support.

Proceeds from this event will support the UMass Lowell Scholars Fund, or an individual fund of your choice.
