University of Massachusetts Lowell invites applications for the position of Dean of the School of Health & Environment.

Located in the historic industrial city of Lowell, 25 miles northwest of Boston, the University of Massachusetts Lowell has three campus clusters: North, South and East along the Merrimack River. The University is composed of the College of Arts and Sciences, the Graduate School of Education, the College of Engineering, the School of Health and Environment, and the College of Management.

Established in April 2004, the School of Health and Environment at the University of Massachusetts Lowell prepares professionals in a wide range of health and environmental occupations. A large research program and vibrant community engagement enrich and support the educational programs. The school offers bachelor's degrees in six majors, 10 master's degrees and seven doctoral degrees, plus 14 graduate certificates. The mission of the School is to provide education and promote human health and development and thus, enable people to live in safe and productive communities and environmentally sustainable economies.

The Dean is the chief academic and administrative officer of the School who leads and represents approximately 75 faculty, 750 undergraduates and 350 graduate students and staff. The school includes the departments of Clinical Laboratory and Nutritional Sciences, Community Health and Sustainability, Nursing, Physical Therapy, and Work Environment. The Dean working together with Department Chairs has responsibility for leadership of the School and its relationship to the university administration. Reporting to the Provost, the Dean works closely with other deans and executive officers on behalf of the University as a whole.
