Bio Sketch Dr. Quinn is an occupational hygienist with research interests in occupational and environmental exposure assessment, sustainable production, and work environment policy and practice. She conducts her research nationally and internationally, with particular focus in the healthcare and home care industries and in nanotechnologies. She has more than 25 years of experience in occupational health and safety professional practice, research, and education. She is certified in the comprehensive practice of industrial hygiene (CIH) by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene. She completed a year-long fellowship in occupational cancer epidemiology in Florence, Italy funded by the Italian Association for Research on Cancer. Dr. Quinn is a co-founder of the Lowell Center for Sustainable Production (LCSP) (www.sustainableproduction.org) at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and a member of the LCSP Director's Council. She directs the Sustainable Hospitals Program (www.sustainablehospitals.org), initiated in 1996, to conduct research and provide technical expertise to members of the healthcare community to identify and implement more environmentally sound, healthy and safe materials, products, and work practices.
