Educational Background

Professor Freund holds a B.S. degree in Management Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an M.B.A. degree from the University of Connecticut and a Ph.D. in Finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business. 

Scholarly Interests

Professor Freund's research interests are in the areas of option pricing, market microstructure and corporate finance. He has published articles in Financial Management, the Journal of Banking and Finance, The Journal of Derivatives, The Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance and The Journal of Financial Research. 

Bio Sketch

Steven Freund is an assistant professor of management in the department’s Finance Group. He joined the COM in 2004 and currently teaches courses in Corporate Finance and Investments. Professor Freund has previously taught at Pennsylvania State University, the University of Detroit Mercy, and Suffolk University.
