Steven F. Tello

Steven F. Tello is an assistant professor in the department’s Management Group. Dr. Tello has extensive experience in the development, delivery and administration of technology-enhanced training and education for college and K-12 faculty. He founded the university’s online program in 1996 and oversaw all aspects of its operation and development until his transition to the College of Management in 2005. Dr. Tello also participated in the university’s ERP implementation where he assisted in the design and development of new university business processes, work flows and system modifications.  He has conducted numerous workshops and training programs on the use of multimedia, the Internet and the World Wide Web as a teaching tool.  Most recently, he initiated the development of the university’s Online Teaching Institute, which provides higher education faculty with an orientation to online pedagogy. Dr. Tello maintains an active role in support of technology integration on the campus and within the UMass system. He is an active member of the university’s Teaching with Technology Task Force, and a campus representative to UMassOnline and the UMass Subcommittee on Academic Technology.
