Debra-Nicole Huber, Director of Instrumental Music Outreach and Associate Director of University Bands, is a Conductor in the performance area of the Department of Music.
Ms. Huber is the Conductor and Artistic Director of the UMass Lowell New England Youth Wind Ensemble, the New England Junior Wind Ensemble, Director of the Music Technology Lab, and is the Associate Director of University Bands, including the Jazz-Rock Big Band, Pep Band and the Marching Band. She has taught Conducting, Instrumental music, Theory, and Music Technology.
Ms. Huber is also the Executive Director of the UMass Lowell Mary Jo Leahey Symphonic Band Camp, in which she conducts the Concert Band, Jazz Band and Honor's Wind Ensemble. Now celebrating its 12th season, the camp has become one of the most prominent signature programs for the Department of Music and for the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and has fostered the reputation of a quality program of the highest caliber on a national level.
In her role as Associate Director of University Bands, Ms. Huber has received recognition from the University of Massachusetts Lowell as Advisor of the Year, and has been inducted into the Music National Honor Society, Pi Kappa Lambda. Recently she was elected to the position of Higher Education Member-at-Large for the Massachusetts Music Educators Association.
Debra-Nicole Huber is the past Music Director and Conductor of the Charles River Wind Ensemble, and is an active clinician, guest conductor and adjudicator for the musical education community throughout New England.
