Bio Sketch

Susan Kirtley specializes in rhetoric and composition (particularly writing and technology, visual rhetoric, and early modern rhetoric), as well as feminist literary theory and popular culture. She has published in Computers and Composition: An International Journal and Rhetoric Review. She has also presented numerous papers at the premiere event for compositionists, the Conference on Composition and Communication. Lately she has been combining her interests in visual rhetoric, popular culture, and feminism, which has culminated in presentations at the Popular Culture Association Convention and an advance contract from the University of Mississippi Press for her project entitled Lynda Barry: Building Bridges through Text and Image.
