Conference Director: UMass Lowell's Dickens and America: Literature, Industry, Culture Conference. This international, interdisciplinary, multi-grade level conference took place April 4-6, 2002 in Lowell.

Book: "Domesticity, Imperialism, and Emigration" (University of Missouri Press, 2002)

Guest Editor: "Dickens and America: A Special Issue of Dickens Quarterly"  (Sept. 2002)

Articles published on women in Victorian novel and Victorian medievalism.

Current research projects: editing an anthology of essays on anti-Americanism in 19th century British Literature and co-authoring her 91-year-old grandmother's memoir.
