New Voices for Health & Environment in the Merrimack Valley

New VoicesThe goal of the School of Health and Environment's pilot project “New Voices for Health and Environment in the Merrimack Valley” is to find innovative ways to communicate health information to Asians, Latinos and Brazilians in the Merrimack Valley in Massachusetts.

The UMass Lowell Student Broadcast Media Center and faculty from the Departments of Community Health and Sustainability, Nursing, and Work Environment will promote health, safety, and well-being through the use of two ethnic media channels--radio broadcasting and newspapers.

The project team will focus on multidisciplinary aspects of health and environment issues affecting immigrant populations, such as health careers, worker health and safety, and disease prevention and management.
