Dr. Maureen McMullen has a Doctorate in Nursing Science from Boston University, School of Nursing. She is a Nurse Practitioner and teaches in the Graduate Program with the Nurse Practitioner students, the Degree Completion courses for the RN students, and the Curriculum and Teaching in Nursing course in the Nursing Education Certificate.
A graduate from Boston University School of Nursing with a MS in Medical Surgical Nursing in the Teaching track, Dr. McMullen has been a nurse educator for more than 30 years and has taught in baccalaureate, master's and PhD Programs. She served for several years on the Cabinet on Nursing Education of the Massachusetts Nurses Association.
Dr. McMullen received funding from a Healey Endowment Grant Award and a Massachusetts Association of Colleges of Nursing Faculty Award to study "Change over Time in the Critical Thinking of Graduate Nursing Students: Effects of the Clinical Year." Additional funded research has included the evaluation of an acute care nurse practitioner service, evaluation of health in a low-income community health center, and the medication adherence of ethnic elders.
