Professor Prasad holds a B.Tech. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur, and an M.B.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma.

Dr. Prasad's current interests are in the areas of individual investor behavior and bankruptcy forecasting. He has published several papers on capital structure, valuation, and the financing of start-up ventures. Professor Prasad’s research has been published in such journals as Advances in International Banking and Finance, Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, Journal of Applied Business Research, New Directions in Finance, Advances in the Study of Entrepreneurship and Economic Growth and many others. He has presented his research at numerous conferences, served on program committees and reviewed papers for professional journals.

Dev Prasad is an associate professor of management in the department’s Finance Group. Professor Prasad has several years of industrial experience in the areas of business planning and start-up financing; capital budgeting and project management; production and operations management; financial planning and insurance; financial institutions management; marketing management; exports/imports management; and human resources.
