Chancellor's Inauguration

Inauguration of the Third Chancellor of the University of Massachusetts Lowell
On Thursday, Oct. 22, Jacqueline F. Moloney ’75, ’92 will be formally installed as chancellor of UMass Lowell. The theme for Chancellor Moloney's inauguration and First90 initiative is Making a Difference Together, Leading Through Innovation.

The Inaugural Ceremony will be held at the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell, and will begin at 10 a.m. A luncheon will follow at 11:30 a.m. 

At 5:30 p.m., an Inaugural Gala will take place at the UMass Lowell Inn & Conference Center.

There is no charge for the inauguration ceremony and luncheon. The Inaugural Gala will raise funds for the Chancellor Jacqueline F. Moloney Endowed Scholarship, which will provide both scholarships and applied learning opportunities for UMass Lowell students. Gala tickets are $150 per guest.

About Jacqueline F. Moloney

Lauded as a pioneer in online education and for her leadership, entrepreneurial skills and impressive record of achievement, Jacquie Moloney was named chancellor of UMass Lowell on Aug. 3, following a nationwide search. 

The first woman to serve as chancellor of UMass Lowell, she was the unanimous choice of the UMass Board of Trustees. She earned both her undergraduate and doctoral degrees at UMass Lowell, and served for many years as a senior faculty member and administrator, most recently as executive vice chancellor.
