GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) is a federal grant program designed to increase the number of low-income students prepared to enter and succeed in post-secondary education.
GEAR UP Lowell
GEAR UP Lowell works with Lowell Public School students, families and staff to provide creative, long-term support aimed at increasing the number of students who are ready for college. We have established partnerships with schools, colleges, local arts, youth-serving organizations, and non-profit organizations.
Our goal is to see every student we work with graduate and continue their education after high school. We aim to provide GEAR UP students with the tools they need to achieve academic success.
Our vision is a city where going to college is not the exception but the EXPECTATION. We envision Lowell to be a place where students, families, public schools staff, and local businesses see the long-term benefits of investing in the educational development of all Lowell youth.
