Using micromechanics approach, the course focuses on the deformation and fracture behavior of metals, ceramics, composites and polymerics. Topics include: elastic behavior, dislocations, crystal plasticity, strengthening mechanisms, composite materials, glassy materials, creep and creep fracture, tensile fracture, and fatigue.
