Salsa Dance Classes

Campus Recreation offers 8-week fall and spring Salsa Dance classes. Salsa is the biggest, most popular form of Latin nightclub dancing today. It combines intricate hand switches with fast footwork and energetic, inspiring music.

Salsa1

Our beginner salsa class will introduce you to the basics of nightclub salsa. The goal of this 8-week program is to get students used to salsa timing, technique and etiquette.Students will learn basic salsa patterns in a fun, encouraging environment and meet new people as well. No previous experience or partner is necessary!

The goal of the advanced beginner class is to take the beginner class material and use it to dance freestyle through entire songs. The focus of this class will be on leading/following, connection, creating combinations and using them to make the dance flow quickly and smoothly from one pattern to the next. We will show students how to mix and match patterns and feel confident enough in themselves to go out to a club and have a great time. Some experience is required; taking our beginner class first is strongly recommended.
