Weekdays: Noon - 8 p.m. / Weekends: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
September: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. (weekends only)
Kayak and Canoe Rentals
Our mission is to offer educational and recreational kayaking opportunities to the UMass community and greater public. We provide instructional courses for adults and children of all skill levels and offer kayak rentals daily on the Merrimack River. We would love to get you out on the water, feeling confident, and having fun!
We rent single or tandem kayaks and canoes by the hour. Rental rates are listed in the chart below. All rates include paddle(s), life jackets (PFDs), and basic safety/paddling instructions.
Waivers:
We ask that each participant review and complete a release of liability waiver before renting a kayak with us to better inform you about possible risks associated with kayaking. Waivers can be reviewed and completed ahead of time by clicking the links below. Paper copies area valiable at the Kayak Center. Please contact Rachel Iversen, the Outdoor Program Coordinator, with any questions. 978-934-1932.
Reservations: To reserve a kayak ahead of time or to inquire about availability, call the Kayak Center at 978-995-2362.
Discounts: Discounts are given to UMass Lowell Students, Faculty, Staff and Alumni with a valid ID. Discounts may also be given to groups, of 6 or more; see our main page or contact Rachel Iversen at 978-934-1932 for more information.

Note: We ask that you provide and valid ID or a credit card as collateral to check out a kayak or canoe. This will be returned once the kayak is returned to the Boathouse.
Season and Monthly Passes
Our season and monthly passes are a great bargain for people looking to spend 7 or more days on the water with us each month. Passes are good for unlimited single kayak or canoe rentals. A $10 guest fee will apply each time a pass-holder rents a tandem kayak or canoe

Boat Sales
