Study Abroad: Dream It! Plan It! Live It!

In this global economy, all students should take advantage of the opportunities that study abroad can offer them — a chance to experience another culture, travel, meet people from all over the world and possibly learn another language in the country of origin.  UMass Lowell students have studied in more than 23 countries. All students in all majors are encouraged to pursue their study abroad dreams. There are many study abroad program options in the fall, spring, summer, and winter sessions.

The Study Abroad Advisor from the Centers for Learning is happy to help you accomplish your study abroad goals.  She will help you explore and choose a program, In many cases, a student’s financial aid can be applied to help in covering the cost of studying abroad.  Students who wish to study abroad in their sophomore, junior, or senior year should get started as early as the freshman year with planning a semester, year, or summer abroad.

"By studying abroad you take a risk that not many people have the courage to take. You step outside of your comfort zone and find that it's one of the most beneficial things you'll ever do."
