GECC

Duties

  • Receive and act on recommendations proposed by the Coordinator of General Education. 
  • Develop specific procedures to implement the General Education Requirements. 
  • Act as liaisons to academic departments to ensure that all departments' curricula satisfy the General Education requirements. 
  • Review syllabi for proposed General Education courses to determine whether the learning outcomes are covered in these courses. 
  • Maintain a list of courses approved for General Education.
  • Develop means for broad dissemination of General Education policies to students, faculty and administration. 
  • Recommend policy decisions to the Undergraduate Policy Committee as needed.
  • Assume responsibility for administering the former General Education requirements and for making the transition to the new General Education requirement.
