Requirements of the Major


Learning Outcomes

Students will demonstrate:
  • Knowledge and understanding of school and classroom practices that contribute to student achievement including theories of leadership
  • Knowledge and understanding of school and classroom practices that contribute to student achievement including theories of leadership, research in curriculum and instructional supervision, finance and school law, student learning, teaching and school improvement 
  • Knowledge and skills in real-life leadership activities 
  • Ability to design and implement an Action Plan encompassing leadership knowledge and skills across the “Professional Standards for Administrators” 
  • Commitment to and promotion of equity of educational opportunity for all learners
  • The use of inquiry and research to address educational challenges
  • A collaborative disposition to transform relationships among people in schools mobilizing them to accomplish purposes they value
